Make sure you’re ready to travel with ENTYVIO

Keep in mind that ENTYVIO is administered by subcutaneous injection once every two weeks.

If you do travel with ENTYVIO, use this checklist to make sure you’re prepared:

  • Check with the foreign office of your destination country, to be sure you can bring ENTYVIO into the country, and can bring enough to cover your entire stay: www.international.gc.ca/protocol-protocole/reps.aspx?lang=eng
  • Bring a copy of your prescription, which should include the generic name vedolizumab, and trade name ENTYVIO.
  • Bring a doctor’s note stating why you are taking this medication. The doctor’s note should be printed on official letterhead, and should be signed.
  • If applicable, have contact details of the doctor you will be seeing in your destination country.
  • Store ENTYVIO in an insulated pack with ice packs – ENTYVIO must be kept cold, between 2–8 degrees Celsius.
  • Keep the pen or syringe in the outer carton to protect ENTYVIO from light.
  • If you’re flying, find out what you can bring on a plane.
    • Pack all medications in your carry-on luggage in their original, labelled containers to streamline airport security and customs screening.
    • Use the Family/Special Needs security line, because screening officers in these lines are trained to offer additional assistance.

You can also visit the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority site for more information.

Depending on the country of travel, additional out-of-pocket expenses may occur to cover fees for your infusion or injection services.
